How to use the JWT Generator?

A JWT Generator creates JSON Web Tokens from a specified header, payload, signing algorithm, and key. It provides a convenient way to generate tokens for development, testing, and API workflows.

Enter your JWT header and payload, select the desired signing algorithm, and provide the required key. The generator then creates a signed JWT based on the information you provide.

A JWT Generator can be useful for testing authentication systems, developing APIs, debugging applications, and creating sample tokens for development environments.

Yes. Depending on the options provided by the tool, you can select a supported signing algorithm and generate a token using the corresponding signing method and key.

No. CodeLiqo’s JWT Generator processes your input directly in your browser. Your headers, payloads, and signing keys do not need to be uploaded to a remote server for token generation.

What Does JSON Compare Do?

JWT Generator lets you create a JSON Web Token by entering the information you want to include in the token and choosing the signing options. Start by selecting an HMAC algorithm such as HS256, HS384 or HS512 and entering a signing secret.

In the JWT Claims section, you can add values such as the Subject (sub), Issuer (iss), Audience (aud), User ID, Name and Role. You can also use the Token Options to automatically add an issued-at timestamp, set an expiration time, generate a unique JWT ID (jti), and include additional custom claims as a JSON object.

After entering the required information, the tool generates the JWT together with its Payload, allowing you to review the generated token and the claims it contains.

For example, you can create a token for a user by entering a subject, issuer, audience, name and role, then enable expiration and choose how long the token should remain valid. You can also add custom claims such as:

{
  "plan": "pro",
  "verified": true
}

JWT Generator is useful for development, testing and working with authentication systems that use JSON Web Tokens. The generated Payload can also be inspected with JWT Inspector or JWT Decoder to review the claims and structure of the token.

When using the generator, make sure the signing secret is appropriate for your environment and never expose production secrets unnecessarily. The token generation is performed directly in your browser.
